Father Was a Fullback, the 1949 John M. Stahl football sports family relationship comedy ("I wanted to live DANGEROUSLY, so I married a football coach! [who lost every game]"; "Suggested by a play by Clifford Goldsmith") starring Fred MacMurray, Maureen O'Hara, Betty Lynn, Rudy Vallee, Thelma Ritter, Natalie Wood and James Backus (billed as "James G. Backus"). Note that Natalie Wood was a child actress in this movie, and that Jim Backus appeared as well. Seven years later, they would again appear together, this time in "Rebel Without a Cause"!
