An Autographed 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" [19 x 23 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Destry Rides Again (released in some countries as "Arizona"), the classic 1939 George Marshall romantic cowboy western gambling poker comedy ("Based on the novel by Max Brand"; about the son of a famous sheriff who arrives in a crooked western town, with the hopes that he is like his father and will "clean up" the town, but he seems to be far from the man for the job, because he has Eastern ways, but he soon proves the naysayers wrong) starring Marlene Dietrich (as Frenchy), James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; in the title role as Tom Destry Jr.), Charles Winninger, Mischa Auer, Brian Donlevy, Irene Hervey, Una Merkel, Allen Jenkins, Warren Hymer, Billy Gilbert, Lillian Yarbo, and Jack Carson. Note that the title of the movie refers to Stewart's character returning to the town where his father had been sheriff, but it is not a sequel of any sort. Oddly, when the movie was re-made with Audie Murphy in the lead role, the title was shortened to simply "Destry", which means that "Destry Rides Again" came before "Destry"!
