An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Shoes That Danced, the 1918 Frank Borzage silent Lower East Side New York City crime gang romantic melodrama ("Rhoda reforms the Harmony Lad"; two rival Irish gangs in New York City are at war, and a cabaret girl is the witness to a murder, and her boyfriend is the leader of one of the gangs; after many adventures, he quits the gangs and they get to live in peace; obviously, loosely based on "Romeo & Juliet", and likely part of the inspiration for "West Side Story" and also "The Gangs of New York"; at one crucial point in the movie, there is a masquerade ball where one of the characters is dressed as Charlie Chaplin!) starring Pauline Starke, Wallace MacDonald, Richard Rosson, Anna Dodge, and Ann Forrest NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this half-sheet is very old, and it would not make sense to attempt to roll it, as the paper is fragile enough that rolling it might damage it. Therefore we will send it in a large flat package. Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster! Note that the poster is not so fragile that it is "falling to pieces"! If it is handled carefully, it can absolutely be framed and enjoyed without any worry. Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970! Condition: good. There is a 12" tear in the center of the bottom border that was repaired with tape from the back. There is a 10" diagonal tear near the center of the poster (to the left of the man's face) that was repaired with tape from the back. There are many smudges around the edges of the poster and paper loss in the bottom left corner. The poster is NOT very fragile, surprising, given it is 90 years-old!
