An Original Vintage Linenbacked Movie Magazine Ad (measures 10 3/4" x 15 3/4" [27 x 40 cm]) (Learn More)

Colgate's Talc Powder, the 1910s magazine advertisement ("Best in Nursery and Boudoir") for talcum powder and Colgate's Cold Cream. This ad features art of a woman applying talcum powder to a happy baby and another woman using the powder herself. Note that this is the same Colgate company that is famous for toothpaste. It was founded in 1806 as primarily a soap company. In 1873, it first made toothpaste. If anyone knows more about this ad, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The magazine ad had smudges and stains around the edges. Overall, the ad was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the ad "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the ad).
