Boogie Nights, the 1997 Paul Thomas Anderson biographical pornography sex-and-drugs thriller ("the life of a dreamer, the days of a business and the nights in between"; "In 1977, sex was safe, pleasure was a business and business was booming."; "Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson"; "...the seventies - unzipped..."; based around the Californian pornography industry of the late 1970s and early 1980s; Wahlberg's character is VERY loosely based on the porn star John Holmes) starring Mark Wahlberg (as Dirk Diggler), Julianne Moore (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Amber Waves), Burt Reynolds (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Jack Horner), Don Cheadle (as Buck Swope), John C. Reilly, William H.
