A 1958 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Criss Cross, the 1949 Robert Siodmak crime thriller film noir melodrama ("'There's only one way to get a dame like you out of my blood...'"; "Mark Hellinger's choice to follow his 'Killers' and 'Naked City'"; "When you double-cross a double-crosser... It's a... Criss Cross"; "You always got what you wanted, Baby... Now you're gonna get him --- for keeps...!"; "Based upon the novel by Don Tracy"; note that a tagline on the title card mentions producer Mark Hellinger, but he died before filming began and no other poster mentions him) starring Burt Lancaster, Yvonne De Carlo, Dan Duryea, Stephen McNally, Richard Long, and Tony Curtis (in a bit part) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any reasonable viewing distance, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME slight traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we try clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and a few small scratches in the bottom right of the image, but otherwise was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the three scratches described above (they are truly not very noticeable, and any restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
