An Original 1948 Vintage Theatrical English Movie Trade Ad (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], measures 17" x 22" when unfolded; 8 pages) (Learn More) Down to Earth, the 1947 Alexander Hall New York City Broadway romantic fantasy musical ("She Sings! She Dances! She Loves!"; "She's out of this world... In Technicolor!"; "They say she kissed 2000 men!"; "Songs by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher"; "Magic enchantment that takes you out of this world..."; about the real life goddess Terpsichore coming down to Earth after seeing how she is portrayed in a Broadway musical!) starring Rita Hayworth, Larry Parks, Marc Platt, Roland Culver, James Gleason, Edward Everett Horton, Adele Jergens, George Macready, William Frawley, James Burke, and Virginia Hunter. Note that there is an oddity about the posters for this movie. They have a 1946 NSS number, and yet the movie was not released until August of 1947. Perhaps it was intended for a December 1946 release (to qualify for awards), but when the movie was not ready in time, it ended up getting pushed back until the following August. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a great eight-page trade ad (four pages that open into a 17" x 22" poster on the other side; see our images) taken out of a Kinematograph Weekly English trade magazine (we have a number of them in this set of auctions, and also some one-page English trade ads and a few English brochures). Studios would only rarely run these elaborate 8-page ads in issues of this magazine (usually they were either 1-page or 2-page), and they often had images not found on any of the regular movie posters (either English or U.S.). This 8-page trade ad was removed from a 1947 issue of this magazine, and it will look incredible displayed on the new owner's wall, but of course, they will have to decide which side to display. Condition: very good. The ad was removed from a magazine (see above). It was the centerfold of the magazine so the pages are on a single sheet, and there are staple holes at the spine (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
