An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Torrid Zone, the 1940 William Keighley banana plantation adventure romantic love triangle comedy ("Triple Tropical Trouble ... Cagney ...Sheridan ...O'Brien!"; about a man who runs a fruit plantation in a banana republic in Central America, and he hires an old pal to help him, but that causes problems both financially and romantically) starring James Cagney ("goes native!"), Ann Sheridan ("goes after him!"), Pat O'Brien ("goes after 'em both!"), Andy Devine, Helen Vinson, Jerome Cowan, George Tobias, and George Reeves NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful candid still shows a Warner Bros. studio portrait by Madison Lacy of these two great stars, with Cagney serenading Sheridan while playing his guitar! Note that this still measures 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Note that we are currently auctioning over 100 ultra rare 11x14 stills (some measure slightly smaller) that are mostly from the 1930s, all in separate auctions! The highlight of these is the 58 of them that were consigned to us by a collector who acquired them many years ago, and they feature wonderful images of many of the greatest 1930s Hollywood stars, including James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, Edward G. Robinson, and many others! These are many times more rare than 8x10 stills, and are very rarely offered for sale or at auction, and many of these may be "one of a kind"! This is a very rare opportunity to acquire one or many of these extreme rarities! Condition: good. There is a vertical black paint in the lower left, on Sheridan's dress. There are creases in the bottom right corner. There are also faint score marks around the images of the stars, where it was used in a newspaper or magazine, and also some smudges near those areas, but they do not affect the images of the stars, and they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light.
