An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Jock Mahoney was born Jacques O'Mahoney, and was of French and Irish heritage. He was an actor from the 1940s to the 1980s. He was a star athlete at the University of Iowa and an aviator in the U.S. Marines. After he got out of the service, he became a stunt man, and he soon began playing the leads in action and western movies. He is best remembered from playing Tarzan in several movies (he was the thirteenth actor to play Tarzan, and he would sign Tarzan items as "Tarzan No 13"). He also had starring roles in two TV series, The Range Rider and Yancy Derringer. Some of his roles include: The End, A Time to Love and a Time to Die, Away All Boats, The Land Unknown, and Battle Hymn. He passed away in 1989 at the age of 70. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jock Mahoney! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1980s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: very good. There is tape on the back of the borders and a few tiny stains in the left border, but the still is otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
