What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had minor fold and border wear. The inscription had a dedication above it, and the person who had the poster backed had that painted over when it was linenbacked. It likely blended well when the poster was backed, but it is now fairly obvious. One might live with it, or one could have a restorer put additional paint over that area, without re-backing the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
