An Undated (probably 1920s) Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Grandma's Boy, the 1922 Fred C. Newmeyer silent family relationship romantic love triangle comedy (produced by Hal Roach; about a mild-mannered young man who lives with his grandmother, and who competes with a "bully" for the affections of a pretty young woman; a robber comes to their small town, and his grandmother tells him about how heroic his grandfather was in the Civil War, and she inspires the young man to not only catch the thief, but to also beat up the bully and win the hand of his young lady!) starring Harold Lloyd ("His First 5 Part Feature"), Mildred Davis, Anna Townsend, Charles Stevenson, and Dick Sutherland. Note that this was Harold Lloyd's first feature film after a huge number of one and two-reel comedy shorts. Oddly, this was at first intended to be a serious movie, but Lloyd added a lot of gags and it became a comedy. There are flashback scenes in the movie showing the "grandfather", which are taken from an early Lloyd short. The movie was one of the highest grossing movies of 1922! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1920s re-release style B one-sheet. We previously auctioned two different first release one-sheets (both of which have completely different images from this poster), and they sold for $2,300 and $9,200, and those were 22 and 25 years ago!
