Stuart Blackton was an English director from the 1890s to the 1930s. He was a newspaper reporter in the 1880s and he happened to interview Thomas Edison in 1896, which got him interested in movies! His best movies were Winsor McCay the Famous Cartoonist of the N.Y. Herald and His Moving Comics, Princess Nicotine or, The Smoke Fairy, and The Enchanted Drawing. He died in 1941 at the age of 66 after getting hit by a bus. Important Added Info: There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "PHOTOGRAPH BY CHARLOTTE FAIRCHILD" and there is also an embossed photographer's stamp in the bottom right corner.
