Date Sold 5/10/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Sunset Legion, the 1928 Lloyd Ingraham & Alfred Werker silent Texas Ranger romantic cowboy western melodrama ("Story by Frank M. Clifton", the pseudonym used by Frances Marion!; about a small western town that is plagued by outlaws and bad men, and they send to the governor for help, but the man who shows up is an eastern dude, who whittles all day, but shortly after he arrives, a masked avenger turns up, who helps get the town free from their troubles) starring Fred Thomson, Silver King the Horse, Edna Murphy, William Courtright, and Harry Woods. Note that Frances Marion used a pseudonym for her screen credit for the screenwriting of this movie (perhaps that was because she was married to star Fred Thomson and didn't want to be accused of nepotism). Also note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). Also, note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
