Dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy. Having sold over 500 million records worldwide, Presley is recognized as the best-selling solo music artist of all time by Guinness World Records. Some of his movies include: Blue Hawaii, Love Me Tender, Viva Las Vegas, and Jailhouse Rock. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 42. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is a promo card for Elvis Presley songs available on records and albums) has been personally autographed (signed) by Elvis Presley! It comes with a great letter from Jim Hannaford, who was a fan of Elvis' since 1955, and who ran a fan club for Elvis since the early 1960s, and had many business connections with Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker. This promo card, which dates from the late 1950s, was signed by Elvis at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1975. As noted in the letter, Tom Diskin, Colonel Parker's right hand man, had Elvis sign this item and others for Mr. Hannaford as a personal favor (see our scan of the Jim Hannaford letter and our scans of the front and back of the promo card). Condition: good to very good. The promo card was taped to an album page. There is yellowed tape in the top border and tiny surface paper loss in the top left corner, where someone started to try to remove the tape.
