An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Large Movie Poster (31x47; measures 32" x 47") (Learn More) Fanny, the 1932 (released in the U.S. in 1948) Marc Allegret French doomed-lovers romantic comedy melodrama (written by Marcel Pagnol; this was the second of the trilogy of movies based on this story by Pagnol; the first was "Marius" in 1931, and the third was "Cesar" in 1936) starring Raimu (as Cesar), Pierre Fresnay (as Marius), Orane Demazis (in the title role as Fanny), Alida Rouffe, Fernand Charpin, and Auguste Mouries NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Albert Jorio Important Added Info: Note that our consignor tells us that this poster was created in the 1950s (he says "circa 1950") when this movie was re-released to local French theaters with 16mm projection! Also note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, tiny tears, and a few tiny areas of paper loss on some foldlines. There were some scuffs in the solid black background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did next-to-no restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and any restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
