An Undated (likely 1973) Re-Release Vintage Linenbacked Television Teaser Movie Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 34") (Learn More) Lawrence of Arabia, the classic 1962 (wide release in the U.S. in 1963) David Lean (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) English/U.S. World War I (WWI) desert adventure thriller ("Stands Alone!"; "Unanimously acclaimed as 'One of the all time greatest films!'"; "Best Picture of the Year!"; "Winner of 7 Academy Awards!"; "The motion picture that made great international stars of Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif"; "After five years... The first motion picture from the creators of 'The Bridge On The River Kwai.'"; "A mighty spectacle of action and adventure!"; produced by Sam Spiegel and David Lean; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, Jack Hawkins, Jose Ferrer, Anthony Quayle, Claude Rains, Arthur Kennedy, Omar Sharif (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as 'Ali'"), Peter O'Toole (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as T.E. Lawrence; billed as "introducing Peter O'Toole as Lawrence"; which is odd, because he had small parts in several movies prior to this one!), and Zia Mohyeddin NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare teaser poster for the television release of this movie (note the "Sunday Evening January 28th" on the poster). Note that the poster is undated, but that January 28th fell on a Sunday in 1973, 1979, 1990, and 1996. We would say it is quite possible this poster is from either the 1970s dates, especially because the movie was sponsored by "BF Goodrich, the American Radial Lifesaver", and we believe they began using that ad campaign in 1972 (and there was a full-scale theatrical re-release of this movie in 1971, which would make it more likely it might have been shown on TV two years later in 1973. If anyone knows exactly when this re-release is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. The poster had minor fold and border wear and a few faint scuffs in the solid black background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
