Artist: Bob McCall Important Added Info: Note that the Cinerama posters from this movie are far more rare than those without Cinerama (which makes perfect sense, because it only played in a very limited number of theaters that had the Cinerama capability). We have only auctioned a small number of one-sheets with the Cinerama logo. This is the very first time we have auctioned a 40x60 from the Cinerama release, and it is likely so rare because it is not printed on the heavy paper stock that 40x60s of this period are normally printed on, but instead, it is printed on a paper exactly like that used for one-sheets at this time. It has a wonderful provenance! It comes to us directly from the man who was the theater manager of a theater that showed this movie in 1968, in Cinerama, and he has kept it ever since. He tells us that he remembers the poster being rushed to the theater at the last minute, which might explain why it was printed on the one-sheet paper, and would also likely explain why it is incredibly rare (probably a tiny number were made, just for those first run theaters)! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has many light creases scattered throughout. They are much more noticeable in person than they are in the image, but they are not very noticeable when the poster is looked at straight on (you see them when the poster is tilted to the light, because of the high gloss paper the poster is printed on). The poster has creases and tiny tears in the edges of the left and right blank borders, with tiny paper loss at the bottom of the left blank border. Certainly, this wonderful ultra rare poster can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one might choose to have it backed. Learn More about condition grades
