An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Four-Panel Movie Poster (4p; measures 74 1/2" x 106 1/2" [189 x 271 cm]) (Learn More) Ercole al Centro della Terra (released in the U.S. in 1964 as "Hercules in the Haunted World"), the 1961 Mario Bava & Franco Prosperi Italian sword-and-sandal horror fantasy action adventure ("All New! An all new height in fright and might!"; "Superhuman strength versus supernatural evil!!"; "See! Creatures of Pluto - evil lord of the underworld!"; "See! Sunis - the giant from whose land no one returns!"; "See! The ten terrifying tasks of Hercules!") starring Reg Park (in the title role as Hercules/Ercole), Christopher Lee, Leonora Ruffo, George Ardisson, Marisa Belli, Franco Giacobini, Ida Galli, Mino Doro, Monica Neri, and Ely Draco. Note that this is one of the best regarded of the sword and sandal movies of the 1960s, and in 2015 in Los Angeles, they had a unique concept where they presented the movie on a big screen and had major opera singers (including Placido Domingo) sing the lines of the characters (and the show is still running!). Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie, which we have only auctioned once before! Also note that this Italian four-panel measures 74 1/2" x 106 1/2" [189 x 271 cm], and it was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Condition: fair. The poster is quite fragile and has tears and areas of paper loss on parts of many folds. Someone painted over the "LE" of "ERCOLE" at lower left, and then someone else painted "ERCOLE" above the title (see our image). Obviously, a restorer could likely remove some or all of this paint and then properly back the poster, but bear in mind these very significant defects (and the other defects the poster has; see our image) before bidding on this poster.
