An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Hotel Imperial, the 1927 Mauritz Stiller silent World War I (WWI) Austria romantic melodrama ("Story by Lajos Biro"; about a woman who believes her sister committed suicide because of the man she was involved with, and she decides to get revenge in an incredibly elaborate scheme, beginning with getting a job as a maid in the hotel where he lives) starring Pola Negri, James Hall, George Siegmann, Max Davidson, Michael Vavitch, Otto Fries, and Nicholas Soussanin. Note that in the early 1930s, Marlene Dietrich wanted to do a sound remake of this movie, and much money was spent preparing it, but Dietrich quit, causing the studio to lose a lot. It was revived a few years later with Margaret Sullavan intended to star, but that did not happen either, and it was finally remade in 1939 with Isa Miranda in the lead role. We have only previously auctioned a window card, three heralds, a Danish program, and several stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a thin strip of slight darkening in the right of the top blank border. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition.
