An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Putney Swope, the cult classic 1969 Robert Downey Sr. advertising outrageous black sexploitation comedy ("Up Madison Ave."; "The Truth and Soul Movie"; about a black African American man who accidentally takes over a major Madison Avenue advertising agency and makes massive changes, starting with removing all of the white executives and replacing them with black ones, except for a single "token" white man) starring Arnold Johnson (in the title role as Putney Swope), Allan Arbus, Eddie Gordon, Chuck Green, Laura Greene, and Walter Jones. Note that director Downey re-dubbed all of star Arnold Johnson's lines! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had the most minor of fold and border wear. There was a small circle of writing on the back of the poster (in the background area next to the hand at lower left, around 3" above the "P" of "PUTNEY"), which slightly bleeds through to the front. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did not touch up the slight bleed through area described above (it truly is barely noticeable and any restorer could touch it up without re-backing the poster).
