An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Road to Morocco, the 1942 David Butler North Africa adventure screwball comedy ("Bing, Bob and Dotty hit the road again! It's a Harem-scarem riot of song and laughter!"; "Original screen play by Frank Buttler and Dan Hartman"; the third of the highly successful "Road to..." pictures) starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, Anthony Quinn, Dona Drake, Kermit Maynard (in a bit part), Vladimir Sokoloff, and Mikhail Rasumny NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair to good. This poster has been linenbacked, but it was not very well done, likely both because the restorer did not do a good job at all, and because the years since it has been linenbacked have not been kind to the poster. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Generally, it had paper loss at the crossfolds, and tears and paper loss on parts of several foldlines (and someone had put tape on the back, which somewhat bled through to the front). There were tears and areas of paper loss in the borders, more so in the bottom border. The poster was not well backed at all, because you can still see some or all of the defects generally described above (in some cases, as should be immediately evident in our image, the linenbacker did no restoration to some of the defects), and if there was restoration of the above defects, it was not done very well. Certainly, a talented restorer could perform additional restoration (either with or without re-backing the poster), but it might be fairly expensive to have this done, so bear that in mind before you place a bid. The poster was not properly glued in the bottom border and it is "lifting" from the linen significantly in the bottom border. Certainly, I would suggest the new owner have this poster removed from the current linen and properly re-backed by a talented restorer. Learn More about condition grades
