Knights of the Sea, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) poster ("Elco PT... world's fastest combat vessel") featuring art of a speeding Elco PT boat launching a torpedo with a charging medieval knight in the background. A PT boat (short for patrol torpedo boat) was a motor torpedo boat used by the United States Navy in World War II. It was small, fast, and inexpensive to build, valued for its maneuverability and speed. The Elco Naval Division boats were the longest of the three types of PT boats built for the Navy and used during World War II. By war's end, more of the Elco 80 ft boats were built than any other type of motor torpedo boat.

Condition: good. There are some creases and tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (a few are repaired with tape from the back). There is a 6" tear in the lower left edge and a 4" tear in the center right edge that have been repaired with tape from the back. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
