An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Great Redeemer, the 1920 Clarence Brown & Maurice Tourneur silent romantic melodrama starring House Peters, Marjorie Daw, Jack McDonald, Joseph Singleton, and John Gilbert. Note that John Gilbert was billed as "Jack Gilbert" in this movie (which is how he was billed in movies at this time). He had uncredited roles in 1915 and then had credited roles in 1916, but he still spent the next several years not achieving major stardom. One of his first major roles was in 1922 when he starred in an early version of "The Count of Monte Cristo". Of course, he would become a top star of the mid 1920s, and then he would co-star with a very young Greta Garbo, and the rest, as they say, is history! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a hand-colored card. In the days of silent movies prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the cards one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each card is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match. Condition: very good. There is a small tear in the lower right edge that has been repaired with a piece of brown tape from the back. Learn More about condition grades
