An Original 1949 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage French Movie Souvenir Program Book (measures 9 1/4" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 18 pages) (Learn More) Ladri di Biciclette (released in the U.S. in 1949 as "The Bicycle Thief" and in England as "Bicycle Thieves"), the classic 1948 Vittorio De Sica Italian neorealist melodrama ("Academy Award outstanding foreign language film 1949"; about a man and his son who search for a vital missing bicycle; most people rightfully consider this one of the handful of absolute finest movies ever made!) starring Lamberto Maggiorani, Enzo Staiola, Lianella Carell, Gino Saltamerenda, and Vittorio Antonucci. Note that the Italian title literally translates to "The Bicycle Thieves", but for unknown reasons, the movie became "The Bicycle Thief" when it was released in English-speaking countries! Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the cover and four of the pages of this 18-page program. You can use these images to determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are many other pages you are not seeing. Condition: good. The program came in contact with water in the lower right at some point, and the pages are lightly rippled and most have some light red staining in that area of all pages. But the pages are not stuck together, and otherwise, the program is in pretty good condition, which is especially surprising, because the large die-cut area on the cover would surely lend itself to being torn.
