Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned many scene lobby cards from this movie, but we have NEVER before auctioned this title card! Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had pinholes, smudges, and small tears around the edges. Overall, the lobby card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the card has a very unusual design, with a light blue swirling background, and it extends over Bogart and Astor's faces at top center. This is how the card was created and is not any sort of added defect. It was some sort of effect they were going for! Learn More about condition grades
