The Palm Beach Story, the classic 1942 Preston Sturges Florida screwball romantic love triangle comedy ("What a life for a runaway wife!"; perhaps Sturges' best; about a husband and wife who pretend they are not married so that the wife can romance a millionaire, and the millionaire's sister romances the husband, and things get extremely confused, and extremely funny!; this is one of Preston Sturges' best movies, and a highlight is the scene where Colbert and McCrea try to keep from getting back together, but Vallee unwittingly causes that to happen with his wonderful rendition of "Goodnight Sweetheart") starring Claudette Colbert, Joel McCrea, Mary Astor, Rudy Vallee, William Demarest, and Monte Blue. Note that Preston Sturges wanted this movie called "Is Marriage Necessary?", but the Production Code Office vetoed that! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
