Orphans of the Storm, the classic 1921 D.W. Griffith silent historical Paris France romantic family melodrama ("A dramatic epic"; "It is astounding! It is unbelievable! It is important!"; "Because of love a king was deposed and a republic born"; "By arrangement with Kate Claxton"; set during and after the French Revolution, with fictitious adopted sisters intertwined with famous historical figures) starring Lillian Gish, Dorothy Gish, Joseph Schildkraut, Frank Losee, Katherine Emmet (billed as "Catherine Emmett"), Morgan Wallace, Lucille La Verne, Monte Blue (as Danton), Sidney Herbert (as Robespierre), Lee Kohlmar (as King Louis XVI). Note that real-life sisters Lillian and Dorothy Gish play adopted sisters (one of whom was an orphan).

Condition: good. Each of the cards have darkened and the two at left have some discoloration scattered throughout (see our images). The card at upper right as tears at lower right and along portions of the right edge and several are repaired with tape from the back. There is some spotty surface paper loss at lower left and some paper loss at upper left.
