An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 5" x 8" [13 x 20 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Hunted Men, the 1938 Louis King romantic crime murder melodrama ("Thrills! Drama! Romance!"; about a racketeer who kills his cheating partner and he then ends up in the company of a drunk salesman, and hides out in the man's home, and his family learns who he is, but by then, they are forced to help him hide from the police; from the Albert Duffy & Marian Grant play 'Queen's Local', adapted by William R. Lipman & Horace McCoy) starring Mary Carlisle, Lloyd Nolan, Lynne Overman, J. Carrol Naish, Anthony Quinn, Dorothy Peterson, and Buster Crabbe (who is NOT one of the six actors billed on the posters!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that one of the visitors to the set in this cool key book is Will Hays, who is described as "film czar", which he indeed was, because he was in charge of enforcing the notorious "Code", which made sure movies had no improper scenes! Note that the movie is called "Crime Gives Orders" on the back of this still, which was the working title for this movie! Also note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.
