An Original Vintage Folded Special Herald Poster (measures 14" x 41" [36 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Hank & Elmer, the circa 1937 stage show poster ("N.B.C. presents"; "World's most beautiful tented theatre") for an event featuring "Hank and Elmer" (the famous NBC radio personalities) with the original "Barn Dance Comedians" (sometimes referred to as "Radio Gang") which included "Elmer, Zeke, Mary Ann, and the Hoosier Merrymakers". Also included was "30-People-30" and "Corrine and Her Sensational Apple Dance." Note that we have discovered a reference to a performer known as "Mlle. Corinne", who, even though she passed herself off as a French woman, was actually a native Texan, and she performed an "apple dance" at the Texas state fair in 1936, where she apparently appeared nude (except for her apples!). Given that this information is so close to this poster (except for the different spelling of her name), we would think it is extremely likely that this is the same performer. Also, based on the date on this poster and other clues, we believe it is likely from around 1937
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good to fine.
