An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Rotogravure One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 42") (Learn More) Ship from Shanghai, the 1930 Charles Brabin yacht sailing crime action romantic melodrama ("From the book 'The Ordeal' by Dale Collins"; "All talking picture") starring Louis Wolheim, Conrad Nagel, Holmes Herbert, Kay Johnson, and Carmel Myers NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: In the late 1910s through the early 1930s, MGM (and sometimes Paramount and a couple of other studios) would often make a regular one-sheet for a movie and, instead of a second style regular one-sheet, would instead make a special "rotogravure" one-sheet. Named after the rotogravure picture sections at the time popular in Sunday newspapers, these one-sheets would be printed in a single color, often sepia, but sometimes other colors, and they would usually incorporate pictorial images from the movie combined in a montage fashion. Very few rotogravure one-sheets have survived, since they were printed on the same paper stock used in newspapers of the time, and the paper is very fragile and often darkens. Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: fair. The poster is quite fragile and there is much separation and tattering along the foldlines and around the edges. The poster has darkened with age (as is typical of posters of this type) and there are light stains around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
