An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Pilot #5, the 1942 George Sidney World War II (WWII) military airplane aviation fighter jet pilot thriller ("Be there when it happens!"; "Original story and screen play by David Hertz") starring Franchot Tone, Marsha Hunt, Gene Kelly, Van Johnson, Alan Baxter, and Dick Simmons. Note that Peter Lawford played an uncredited soldier in this movie, and it is reported that an MGM executive saw a picture of his face, and signed him to a contract on that alone! Also, Marie Windsor has a bit part in this movie, and it has been suggested that Ava Gardner did as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. There is a 7" tear at lower left extending into the inset image that has been repaired with brown paper tape from the back and there are some smaller tears and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster.
