An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Mary of Scotland, the 1936 John Ford historical Scottish royalty romantic biography melodrama ("History called her the 'Temptress'..."; "One of the greatest love stories of all time... brought to the screen by a marvelous cast of famous stars"; "From the play by Maxwell Anderson") starring Katharine Hepburn (in the title role as Mary, Queen of Scots), Fredric March, Florence Eldridge (as Queen Elizabeth I), Douglas Walton, John Carradine, "And A Tremendous Cast of Famous Stars" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the card was found in the back of a frame and it had been trimmed to 12" x 16", no doubt to be used as a backing board. The top 6" was trimmed off, as was the right 2". There were some smudges and scuffs in the part that was present, with some tiny dot stains scattered in the image. A really talented restorer paperbacked the card and replaced the missing top and right areas. It was really well done, and many people would not realize it had been done, even when looking closely at the card (see our super-sized image for a good sense of how the card now displays).
