An Original Vintage Theatrical Other Company Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Man About Town, the 1939 Mark Sandrich romantic love triangle musical comedy (Benny is a producer who brings his show to London, and he ignores his girlfriend/star, and they get involved with a noble English couple in the same situation, and both females do their best to make their better halves jealous) starring Jack Benny, Dorothy Lamour, Edward Arnold, Binnie Barnes, Phil Harris, Betty Grable, Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson, E.E. Clive, featuring Matty Malneck & His Orchestra, and Monty Woolley. Note that the woman on the left of the one-sheet poster looks like it should be Betty Grable, but she was 7th billed and only appeared in a minor role, singing one song, so it has to be Binnie Barnes, who is the second female lead, and part of the romantic love triangle with Jack Benny and Dorothy Lamour.

Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards, but many years later, noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben discovered that the name of the company was "Associated Displays Corporation" and that they were based in Manhattan, New York (oddly, no collectors knew the name of this company for decades!). Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
