Schoedsack Africa New York City giant ape fantasy romantic love triangle adventure horror thriller ("'The most awesome thriller of all time' the one and only"; "Not beast.. Not human.... Not devil.. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned a different paper banner from the 1952 re-release of this movie, but that one did not have a "tipped-in" area like this one, and it was solely green and black, while this one has more color. Apparently, they made two different styles of paper banners, and this is the first time we have auctioned this style, so after this auction, we will have auctioned each style one time. Note also that the photo on this paper banner was printed on a separate sheet and then attached to that area of the banner (see our image - this was commonly done with paper banners, and some 30x40s and 40x60s of this period). This is how the poster was created. Condition: good. The paper banner has paper loss in the top right corner. It has clear tape on the back of the right border. It has lots of creases, scuffs, and smudges scattered throughout, typical of paper banners of this era. The NSS numbers at left and right were marked over in grease pencil, because the poster was reused for a 1957 re-release of this movie, and that new NSS number was written in grease pencil in both borders (see our image).
