An Original Vintage Theatrical Kraftbacked Folded Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 3/4" x 40 1/2" [68 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) Ship Ahoy, the 1942 Edward Buzzell World War II (WWII) Navy Naval sailor military spy espionage romantic musical mistaken identity screwball comedy ("MGM's Smash Musical Comedy Hit!"; about a novelist who takes a cruise to Puerto Rico to calm his nerves, and he gets involved with a singer who thinks she is smuggling for the U.S. government, but actually, she has been duped by spies, and then her bag gets mixed up with the novelist's!) starring Eleanor Powell, Red Skelton, Bert Lahr, Virginia O'Brien, Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Nestor Paiva, and Frank Sinatra (unbilled, with Tommy Dorsey's band). Note that the plot sounds really zany, and it was really just a device to allow for Tommy Dorsey to perform a lot of songs and for Eleanor Powell to dance, and young unbilled Frank Sinatra, in his second movie, and his first for MGM, gets to sing a song! Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 26 3/4" x 40 1/2" [68 x 103 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this poster has been kraftbacked, which means it was backed onto a brown paper soon after it was printed (this process is called "kraft-backing", and posters with it are called "kraft-backed"). One could have it professionally removed from the kraft paper and linenbacked, and it would look great! Condition: fair to good. The poster was kraftbacked (see above).
