An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Hitch-Hiker, the 1953 Ida Lupino serial killer crime film noir ("Who'll be his next victim... You?"; "-there's Death in his upraised Thumb!"; "Screenplay by Collier Young and Ida Lupino"; based on a true story, about two men who go fishing and pick up a hitchhiker on the way, but he turns out to be a crazy psychopathic killer, and he plays a bizarre game of cat and mouse with them) starring Frank Lovejoy, Edmond O'Brien, William Talman, Jose Torvay, and Sam Hayes. Note that nowadays the word "hitchhiker" is written as a single word, but back in 1953, it was hyphenated, so that is how the title was written on the posters and in the movie itself. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and tiny tears and tiny dots of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline, with fine surface paper loss on the horizontal folds. There were some dot stains scattered in the red background areas, and a small hole in the lower right background area with surface paper loss in the background just above the "L" of "TALMAN". There were pinholes around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
