Important Added Info: Note that first release 1926 movie paper from this first silent version of this classic movie is incredibly rare. We have never sold a movie poster larger than a window card from this movie until we received this insert! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thinner paper backing, it COULD be sent rolled, but we would MUCH prefer to send it in a large flat package (because we fear that rolling it, even into a wide tube, would have an excellent change of damaging it, so we will only send it in a tube if the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage), but otherwise, we will ship it in a large flat package, so bear that expense in mind before bidding on this poster. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the top 3" of the poster was missing. It had tiny paper loss in the bottom of the "G" of "GESTE" and by the first "E" next to it. It had some pinholes around the edges and a few scattered in the image, including one in the man at center's cheek, with some faint smudges and stains scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was well backed, and the top 3" were expertly recreated. Obviously, one would prefer to find a better example of this poster, but since this is the only example of it we have ever seen, one might wait a VERY long time before finding any other example of it!
