A 1947 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Star Packer, the 1934 Robert N. Bradbury (billed as "R.N. Bradbury") cowboy western ("A whirlwind of action in a tornado of trouble! - The sensational western star shows the bad men of the West what fightin' means.") starring John Wayne, Verna Hillie, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Yakima Canutt, and Billy Franey. Note that John Wayne's horse in his First National movies was "Duke", but when he switched to Lone Star, his horse was "Starlight" (but unlike Duke, Starlight was not credited). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the poster is undated, but it has a litho number, and comparing this number to our massive database of litho numbers taken from actual movie posters, we can determine that this poster is almost certainly from 1947! Apparently, some company in 1947 re-released several or many of the John Wayne Lone Star western films, and instead of doing what most companies did, which was to create a single stock poster for all of them, with blank areas or overprinted titles, this company created a different poster with different design for each of the movies they re-released. To date, we have auctioned posters from a number of the Lone Star titles, and they may well have re-released all of them. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
