An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 12" x 18"; 12 pages) (Learn More) Francis Goes to the Races, the 1951 Arthur Lubin talking mule horse racing comedy ("FRANCIS Winner of the 'Patsy' Award as the best Animal Actor of the Year!"; "..and the FUN is running wild!"; "Based on the character 'Francis' created by David Stern") starring Donald O'Connor, Piper Laurie, Francis (billed as "Francis the talking mule!"), Chill Wills (as the voice of Francis the Talking Mule), Cecil Kellaway, and Jesse White NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. This pressbook is in lesser condition. It has significant defects, such as tears, stains, smudges, and small areas of paper loss around the edges. However, important to note that it is complete and UNCUT, which is unusual, since the purpose of pressbooks was for theaters to cut out one or more of the ads and use them in their local newspapers. It has been folded in half horizontally, which is typical of almost all larger pressbooks. Oversized pressbooks were usually folded in half so that they could be more easily transported. Please do not bid on this pressbook unless you can accept the clear defects that it has (if you look at the images we provide, you should get a good sense of what defects this pressbook has).
