We auctioned a three-sheet two times (it was the same poster), and that was in the mid 1990s, but otherwise, we have never auctioned any first release posters other than lobby cards on this movie, until we were consigned this first release half-sheet. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had many creases and small areas of paper loss along both folds. It had many pinholes, tears, and some paper loss around the edges, with some stains and smudges scattered throughout, but fortunately, much more in the background areas than in the images of the stars. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. In spite of the poster's really major defects, it can still be displayed and enjoyed, or certainly, one could choose to have additional restoration performed, but bear the poster's many defects in mind before bidding on it.
