A 1948 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghost of Frankenstein, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton Universal monster horror thriller sequel ("New Thrills as the monster stalks again!"; "Original Story, Eric Taylor"; the fourth Universal Frankenstein movie after the three 1930s classics; in this entry, Bela Lugosi as Ygor resurrects the Frankenstein monster and takes him to the doctor's son and they must find a new brain!) starring Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"; as Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein), Ralph Bellamy, Lionel Atwill (as Doctor Bohmer), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Evelyn Ankers (as Elsa Frankenstein), Lon Chaney Jr. (as the Frankenstein monster), Holmes Herbert, and Janet Ann Gallow NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the posters for the 1948 Realart re-release of this 1942 Universal horror movie were created just six years after the original release. The re-release posters are likely just as rare as the originals, if not more so, likely because fewer theaters played the movie in 1948 than played it in 1942. The 1948 re-release posters have great different images that are not the same as those from the 1942 posters! Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded and it had creases, tears, and some tiny paper loss on both folds, with an extra horizontal fold 1" above the left half of the horizontal fold. It also had a 1" tear in the upper left border and some pinholes, creases, and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the poster displays well! Learn More about condition grades
