An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures approximately 29" x 43") (Learn More) Niagara, the 1953 Henry Hathaway marital problems romantic melodrama ("Marilyn Monroe and 'Niagara' a raging torrent of emotion that even nature can't control!"; "Marilyn Monroe and Niagara, the high water mark in suspense"; set at the famous Niagara Falls waterfall in New York state and Canada; about two couples visiting the famous landmark, one on their honeymoon, and the other in a very disturbing relationship, which leads to a death, which may be murder) starring Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotten, Jean Peters, Casey Adams, Denis O'Dea, Richard Allan, Don Wilson, Lurene Tuttle, Russell Collins, and Will Wright. Note that Marilyn Monroe was given the lead in this movie, but she was not yet a major star. Her performance in this film, and the iconic gigantic image of her laying atop the famous waterfall with the water running over her body helped her career massively! Important Added Info: This Argentinean poster measures approximately 29" x 43" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines, pinholes in the borders, and a few very minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
