Artist: Anselmo Ballester Important Added Info: Note that we have seen Italian photobustas that were dated 1948, so this movie had at least some release in Italy at that time (but any Italian posters from the 1940s are incredibly scarce). Since this poster is dated 1952, it is a re-release, but we have never seen a poster from that 1948 release (assuming that they were made). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had thumb tack holes, stains, tears, and some paper loss around the edges of the poster in the blank borders. It had pretty minor wear on the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above (likely rightfully assuming they will not show when the poster is framed).
