An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War I Poster (measures 28" x 42 1/2" [71 x 108 cm]) (Learn More) Blot it Out, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) War Bond poster ("The Hun - his Mark"; "Blot it Out with Liberty Bonds") encouraging citizens to purchase bonds, and featuring J. Allen St. John art of a bloody hand print. Note that J. Allen St. John is the famous pulp magazine illustrator who drew the dust jackets for all of the early Edgar Rice Burroughs "Tarzan" novels, including "Tarzan of the Apes" in 1914! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: J. Allen St. John Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds, with some smudges and scuffs scattered throughout and some small tears and tiny paper loss in the borders.
