Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Satchmo the Great (released in other English-speaking countries as "Satchmo" and in Poland as "Louis Armstrong"), the 1957 musical jazz biography documentary ("America's Ambassador SATCH Conquers The World!"; "The whole world rocks to his beat!"; "The World's Ambassador of JAZZ!"; "Playing it sweet, hot, and low, low down... He made the whole world claps it's hands and stomps it's feet... From Africa's gold coast to Europe's palaces!"; produced by Fred W. Friendly & Edward R. Murrow, the pioneering radio & TV reporter) featuring Louis Armstrong, Edward R. Murrow (the broadcast journalist as the narrator!), Leonard Bernstein, W.C. Handy, and Barrett Deems NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: good to very good. This poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. It appears to have had the following defects: there were many small tears and smudges along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster and in the solid black areas. The defects were mostly corrected during the linenbacking process, but you can still see evidence of the defects when you look close up. But from any distance away, the poster looks quite nice!
