An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Boobs in Arms, the 1940 Jules White World War II (WWII) army military slapstick comedy short ("A Columbia Short-Subject Presentation"; in this entry, the Stooges are salesmen who are mistakenly enlisted in the army, and their boot camp sergeant turns out to be the jealous husband of a female customer they once had, and they must later rescue him when they are sent to the front line) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard), Richard Fiske, Evelyn Young, and Eddie Laughton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that Three Stooges fans have always wanted to own original release lobby cards from their comedy shorts that show Curly, but they are incredibly rare! In all our years of auctioning, we have only previously auctioned 14 first release lobby cards from Three Stooges shorts that show Curly (3 title cards and 11 scenes), and now we have been consigned SEVEN lobby cards with Curly (2 title cards and 5 scenes), and we are auctioning them in six separate auctions. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good to very good. The card had pinholes, smudges, and stains around the edges, extending into the image and letters in several places. It also had a few smudges and stains scattered in the left half of the image. Overall, the card was in good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. Given the card's defects described above, the restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration, especially in the blank borders and blank background areas, but the card displays pretty well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the card looks now).
