Roaringly funny!... Intensely Human!...."; "They laughed at love and they laughed at life and they laughed at death when it found them!"; "An adaptation of Peter B. Kyne's sensational story... The Three Godfathers"; "Seal of merit"; about bank robbers who kill a man during a holdup, and they escape into the desert, and they find a woman who is giving birth, and she dies, but when they learn that the father was the man they killed, they feel it is their duty to get the baby to safety, but it is all they can do to save themselves) starring Charles Bickford, Raymond Hatton, Fred Kohler, Fritzi Ridgeway, and Joe De La Cruz. Note that there was both a silent and a sound version of this movie released by Universal in 1929. Also note that this was the first sound movie based on this classic story, but it was "old" even then! The very first adaptation was by Broncho Billy Anderson in 1915's "Broncho Billy and the Baby", followed by another version a year later under the source novel's name, followed by a third version called "Marked Men" in 1919. This movie was remade twice, both times under the source novel's name, in 1936, and in 1948, that time with John Wayne, and it was not directly remade again, although other movies borrowed elements of the plot. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four lobby cards from this movie, and only one example of this title card, and that was 25 years ago! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has many pinholes around the edges and a few dot stains scattered throughout, with water stains in the top left, more so in the borders. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back. Obviously, the card can be restored, and it is likely that most or all of the stains can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration, the card will display well, but bear in mind its significant defects (and look at our super-sized images) before bidding on this card.
