Date Sold 6/22/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Blue Eagle, the 1926 John Ford silent World War I (WWI) Navy Naval boxing romantic love triangle drug smuggling crime melodrama ("A fighting drama of adventure, courage, loyalty and strength on the high seas"; "From the story 'The Lord's Referee' by Gerald Beaumont"; about two Irish best friends who are sailors in WWI, and they compete for the same girl; after they get out, they both get into law enforcement and are trying to catch drug smugglers, and they still fight over the girl, and their local priest gets them to settle their differences in the boxing ring, with the winner likely winning the girl too!) starring George O'Brien, Janet Gaynor, Margaret Livingston, William Russell, David Butler, Robert Edeson, Ralph Sipperly, and Jerry Madden (billed as "Jerry the Giant"). Note that Jerry Madden had a small part in a 1925 movie, and then starred in "Jerry the Giant", a William Fox comedy short. He made a total of five of these shorts between 1926 and 1927, when Madden was between 3 and 4 years old. He also co-starred with Tom Mix in a 1927 movie! We don't know why Madden had this nickname, but we do know that as he became an older boy, he only had minor parts, and he had six roles in the 1930s, before he left movies. However, he lived all the way until 2009, when he passed away at the age of 85. If anyone knows more about Jerry Madden, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned an insert, four lobby cards, a still, a glass slide, and a Japanese poster from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this window card! Condition: fair. Learn More about condition grades
