An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Undead, the 1957 Roger Corman monster horror thriller ("Terror... that screams from the grave!"; "A thousand years of naked terror!") starring Pamela Duncan, Richard Garland, Allison Hayes, Val Dufour, Mel Welles, and Billy Barty (as The Imp). Note that there is a very unusual aspect to the one-sheet! The words of the title were created with each of the letters cut off half-way, with the bottom half of each letter "mis-matching" the top half of each letter! One sees this with three-sheets where the bottom piece and the top piece were not printed correctly, and they don't match up, but in this case, this was something that was done intentionally (perhaps to give the poster a kind of "spooky" look to it and fortunately, on the actual three-sheet for this movie, the area where the two pieces join falls 2" above the mismatch"; it would have been really funny if they had made the mismatch be exactly where the two pieces join on the three-sheet)! Artist: Albert Kallis Important Added Info: Note that we have seen several examples of this poster and most of them have a "lightened" appearance, but upon examining them closely, we think it was surely made this way. We have also seen one example with darker colors. We don't know why this is, but we suspect that the majority of the posters had been printed in this "lightened" manner when someone at the printer (or the studio) decided the colors needed to be darkened and so they adjusted it. Whatever the case, know that the poster we are offering here appears as originally printed and is NOT faded in any way. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of surface paper loss on the foldlines and some pinholes and tiny stains in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
