Schaffner French/U.S. prison escape crime adventure thriller ("The greatest adventure of escape!", "The greatest adventure of escape ever filmed!"; "Two men with nothing in common but a will to live and a place to die."; "Based on the book by Henri Charriere"; about the only man to ever escape from the famous French prison "Devil's Island") starring Steve McQueen (in the title role as as Henri 'Papillon' Charriere), Dustin Hoffman (as Louis Dega), Victor Jory, Don Gordon, and Anthony Zerbe

"R" rating ink pad stamp and marker writing between the title and credits at bottom; trimming and paper loss in each corner of the poster (see the image at right); tape stains in the left and right of the horizontal folds and top and bottom edges of the poster; creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the poster (more so around the edges); pairs of staple holes scattered around the edges of the poster
